Side by side Recommendations
Looking to by my first side by side, wondering what you guys have good experience with.
Looking at a full size polaris 570 ranger.
I'll do the odd bit of yard/bush work, mostly just hunting with it, trail riding here and there.
I'm not picky on brand, but I'd like it to do at least 80 km/hr and I don't want to break the bank completely. Let me know your guys experience!

Do a bit more homework, some of the SxS's are getting big and heavy enough that they are not allowed on some trails, engine size is also limited to 1000cc. If you're leaning towards Polaris, what you don't pay up front for quality, you'll pay afterwards for repairs.

You'r right, but most trail permits limit at 2,000 lbs....the Polaris comes in at 1,200 lbs.
You're also right about Polaris..you get what you pay for.

Don't think there is a machine out there that won't break the bank. Pretty hard to even find a machine at the moment at least around here. There a dealer down the road that would normally have several ATV's and UTV's out front. Now there is nothing. Friend trades his ATV in every 2 to 3 years, he went in and they told him 2022 at the earliest. Good luck.

Id love a SXS but they don't fit down our trails. All my buddies would love for it to be stuck so they could razz me all day long and leave me stranded.
That said I rode my buddies 2018 Rzr 1000 turbo. So awesome, Its so fun.
Too bad he hit a jump in 4x4 and smashed the front axles out when he landed. First day having it....almost a $30,000 machine LOL

A lot of the OFATV trails are wide enough (65" max) along with bridges to accommodate SxS's. Crown land on the other hand, I don't know. Guess your buddy will have to rethink his driving capabilities. They don't come with wings, even as an option.

I am happy with my 570 Ranger which I have had for several years. When I was comparing my criteria were turf mode capability, size, cost, dealer location and customer service. We use it for yard work in turf mode and it does not tear up the ground, it fits in my 5'x8' trailer and I can seat 3 in the bench seat (2 legally with belts). The dealer has been great and installed the optional roof, windshield, back window, fabric doors, winch, and light bar. I did not want a SxS which was as big or cost as much as my truck (Nissan Frontier) or I would just use my truck. I know that there are larger/better available but it continues to work for me. I use it ice fishing, hunting including trailering to Pennsylvania twice in the fall.

I have a 2016 CFMOTO UFORCE 500. It is feature rich right out of the factory including winch.
Top speed on pavement is 90 KPH but rarely do over 15 KPH in the bush.
Other than a couple of sensor issues easily repaired it has served me well.
There is now a good dealership network established in Ontario.
Looks like the 500cc is no longer available but the 800 and 1,000 may be something that may suit your needs.
