Delta Variant: Fear Mongering
Studies out of UK....the Delta variant is a 'puddy cat' ..because it's affecting younger people, all they are getting is basically a cold.
The truth is, there is no need to fear the Delta variant...but that is not the message the Politicians want you to hear.
Without fear and reprisals, they can no longer support this lockdown.
Headache, sore throat, runny nose and fever are now the top four reported symptoms, all while the more-infectious delta variant, also known as B1617, is sweeping mainly through people under 40 in the U.K.
"It's more like a bad cold in this younger population," Spector said.
Having a cough clocked in as the fifth most-reported symptom — less common than before, he said — while loss of smell is no longer in the top ten.
While it's good news if COVID-19 truly shows up more often like a common cold, a shift in commonly-experienced symptoms could have an impact on how regions tackle the rest of the pandemic.
Experts have warned pockets of the population with lower vaccination rates are still at risk for infections, and Chagla said milder experiences that don't warrant a trip to a testing centre or hospital could make it harder to track the virus' spread within vulnerable settings in the months ahead.
SECOND OPINIONHow vaccines can crush the variants and make reopening permanent in Canada
"It's going to make testing, as a strategy, a whole lot more difficult," he explained. "Especially with common symptoms being something like a headache — people get headaches for a lot of reasons."
That means community-based testing won't be a feasible option in Canada for much longer despite being a staple throughout much of the pandemic, Chagla said, since it's hard to expect people to rush out for a test at every run-of-the-mill symptom.

I had the occasion to speak at length to a microbiologist, that deals with infectious diseases. He says that each time this virus mutates to a variant, it weakens. Hopefully that’s the case…

Has too much time on their hands
Variants are why you catch colds and flu every year and flu shots are yearly. They change so fast you are basically infected with a new virus every season.
Variants are the evolutionary path a virus takes from either outside pressure ( like vaccines), or resistance within an infected host (immune response). A mutation (variant) arises during the replication process that does a better job than the last version, so it becomes the dominant strain. This variant is an evolutionary mistake, a typo, but RNA viruses replicate typos. This happens a lot and most "typos" are evolutionary dead ends, but once in a while a variant has an evolutionary edge. That's a "variant of concern".
It's important to remember that viruses don't survive by killing their hosts.
Variants are scary to governments that have gone all in on vaccines for covid version 1.0, they aren't any more deadly to you on an individual level, despite what the experts say.
All conspiracy theories aside, if people turned off the news and spend that time educating themselves on how viruses work (look at information prior to 2019), they would be a lot less scared of covid and variants.
And now here today we have new variant symptoms being reported as "much like a bad cold".
Because that's basically what it is...

Saw an interview with the CEO of Maderna this morning. The lab/plant is already gearing up for the 'Annual' Covid shot for this fall.

Theres a lot of things that don't make sense frankly.
Neither the response from governments, so called health officials who seem to be on a power trip, forgetting who they answer to.
Not from the public, on either side. Plenty of fear mongering going on, sensationalizing, blowing things out of proportion from both sides, and for a good illustration of this.
" More people under 70 are killed by cars every year, than by Covid"....Yep, that helps put Covid in context.
"A few dozen have been killed by vaccines (Is it even that high in Canada?) ..." oMG, they are using us as rats....no way I'm getting one.( So get AZ) No way, more people are hit by lightning each year but nope, no way I'm chancing a clot.....Too each their own but it is kind of comical.
About the only aspect that does make sense is the media's response. They stopped being journalists sometime during the 80s, probably around the time rags or what ever they are called started becoming popular.
One aspect that is currently driving me nuts, is that there are people in 50s/60s waiting to get their second shots that can't, while people in their 30 and 40s are starting to get their second. Our niece is I think late 30s. She got her second last week... But I suppose optics matter ( 60%) when it comes to votes.....
As for Covid, again no surprise. While its not the flu, it is much like one. Yet we are freaking out about likely needing yearly shots?......

Shut off the TV, throw the politicians in jail for crimes against humanity and lets get on with our lives minus these morons.
