Salmon fishing Lake O

So with the boat purring like a kitten again made my first venture out on the lake saturday. Made my way down to Bluffers and was suprised to see the lot almost full by 6:00am. Rigged up and had lines set by 7:30 am. Usually I'm a sunrise guy but the first voyage always takes longer to get going. Cross paths with a buddy infront of the plant, He ventured out of ashbridges and got a 5:00 am start. Shouted over what program was working to shorten my learning curve. Waters warm down 100ft still 50'f. Managed only a small shaker and a knock off. Buddy landed 1/2 dozen or so.
With the east wind forecasted for sunday took up and offer to fish out of my buddies boat as I knew the swells would make fishing alone too much of a challenge. Ended the morning with 5 fish 1 bow, the rest chin from a shaker to a couple of 18-20. pulling planers/ copper 200 & 300, wire dipsey and down rigger down 120 all got hit.

oh nice ! I was there all weekend too, I dock my boat in marina Quay so easy for me to get there before sunrise, let me know next time u go !

saturday was BUSY ! but bite was good. Warmer water, so fish moved lower in water column. I was catching everything below the 65 ft .... 22 lbs was my biggest king on dipsy.

Sunday got wavy after 8am though ... had to cut it short as I was out with my girl.

Thanks however most times if its calm enough do enjoy fishing on my own. I prefer after the line pops to put her in neutral and enjoy the fight. Really don't enjoy the drag 'em in while still trolling fight.
Though on those rough days sure is nice to have a helmsperson to keep the boat tracking straight while you fiddle with the program.

I think I know half the boats by bluffers to island. such a nice community compared to hunters, they actually wave, say hi and share info lol so meant next time ure out we could wave and say hi.

Ive lost way too many fish putting the boat on Neutral, but still do the same when im by myself ... gotta invest in a remote control for the throttle soon.

I don't mind the LDR's as its usually a fish I release as to big to eat. Look out for a 17 ft Legend wondering around aimlessly that 'll be me .
