Food for thought
Author unknown,
There was a professor in a large college that had some exchange students in the class.
One day while the class was in the lab, the professor noticed one young man,an exchange student, who kept rubbing his back and stretching as if his back hurt.
The professor asked the young man what was the matter.
The student told him he had a bullet lodged in his back. He had been shot while fighting Communists in his native country who were trying to overthrow his country's government and install a new communist regime.
In the midst of his story, he looked at the professor and asked a strange question. He asked: "Do you know how to catch wild pigs?"
The professor thought it was a joke and asked for the punch line.
The young man said that it was no joke. "You catch wild pigs by finding a suitable place in the woods and putting corn on the ground. The pigs find it and begin to come every day to eat the free food.
When they are used to coming every day, you put a fence down one side of the place where they are used to coming. When they get used to the fence, they begin to eat the corn again and you put up another side of the fence. They get used to that and start to eat again. You continue until you have all four sides of the fence up with a gate in the last side. The pigs, which are used to the free corn, start to come through the gate to eat that free corn again. You then slam the gate on them and catch the whole herd.
Suddenly the wild pigs have lost their freedom. They run around and around inside the fence, but they are caught. Soon they go back to eating the free corn they are so used to it that they have forgotten how to forage in the woods for themselves, so they accept their captivity."
The young man then told the professor that is exactly what he sees happening in America & Canada. The government keeps pushing us toward Communism/ Socialism and keeps spreading the free corn out in the form of programs such as supplemental income, tax credit for unearned income, tax exemptions, tobacco subsidies, dairy subsidies, payments not to plant crops (CRP), welfare entitlements, medicine, drugs, etc., while we continually lose our freedoms, just a little at a time.
One should always remember two truths:
There is no such thing as a free lunch, and you can never hire someone to provide a service for you cheaper than you can do it yourself.
If you see that all of this wonderful government "help" is a problem confronting the future of democracy in America & Canada, you might want to share this with your friends.
If you think the free ride is essential to your way of life, then you will probably not share this.
BUT, God help us all when the gate slams shut!
Quote for today: "The problems we face today are there because the people who work for a living are now outnumbered by those who vote for a living."
A thought to remember, Marx said, "Remove one freedom per generation and soon you will have no freedom and no one would have noticed."

I’m saddened at the constant negativity our country is being portrayed by stories like this, and other various threads. I’m more of a glass half full kind of person. I have no issues with most of the programs our governments offer. I do take issues with the character of people out there abusing these systems. I truly believe there are people out there that just need a bump start, via social programs, to get back on track.
Not to derail your thread, but what came first, the corrupt government or the corrupt people?
You see the government can only pander to those that vote them in. So if the people voted with ill intentions, they are now reaping the rewards. And if the people keep voting them in, they are as much to blame for being corruptable. But one must understand, the majority rules. All the complaining in the world won’t change that.

I hear what your saying but unfortunately the number of people wanting things "for nothing" are outnumbering those who want to lead their own lives and work for what they want - human nature for what it is will want a free lunch paid by the few who work for what they have - I don't hold out much hope for the future - Canada and America's best days are past - the make up of our countries are different from what it was -

Once people realize that elections are decided from the top down and your vote means nothing but a feel good acceptance of the corruption that exists they will begin to understand. Think about it. Do you honestly believe that the people elected an actor / clown to lead us and ensure our well being?
One that admires China?
The proof will eventually come out not unlike what is now occurring in the USA with the last election.

This sounds contradictory to your stance on the current governments ability to govern. If I understand correctly, the general consensus is that liberals have no clue what they are doing. So how can the elections be so rigged from the top down with such a bunch of clowns that are currently in? It is more plausible that the current government is just more relatable to the majority of Canadians. Other parties should actually be taking notes on how to achieve this popularity if they ever want to one day rule.
All people are corruptible. If the carrot is dangled long enough, the cart will move. It is no more than a popularity contest. True policy matters are not important to the general population, who honestly don’t have the time and energy to dissect and absorb it properly. Catch phrases and smiles are currently the best tools at hand.
Sitting and waiting on something to happen in the U.S. over the elections is a shot in the dark, lottery type wait. Don’t hold your breath. If it was a real problem it would have been dealt with swiftly, as the world is watching and egos tend to ride high.

Sounds like a great illustration, to describe how to carry out an effective genocide. So that how it was eventually achieved.

What exactly is it you are saying.....??
The hammer is about to come down.
Statement from Donald J. Trump
"The news coming out of Georgia is beyond incredible. The hand recount in Fulton County was a total fraud! They stuffed the ballot box—and got caught. We will lose our Country if this is allowed to stand.
According to the just released report from Garland Favorito and the highly respected Voter GA, in Fulton County the hand recount was wrong by 60%; 100,000 tally sheets for ballots were missing; they duplicated thousands of extra votes for Joe Biden; and fabricated vote counts of 100–0 for Biden, many times! Ballot batch sheets fraudulently showed multiple unanimous 100–0 counts for Biden, as well as 150–0, and 200–0. Are we now in a Third World country? What else will they find once the full Forensic Audit takes place?
This means Brad Raffensperger certified the 2020 Presidential Election Scam despite it being “riddled with massive errors and provable fraud.” This proves what Suzi Voyles, who worked Fulton elections for decades, suspected, that fraudulent photocopied ballots were counted for Biden. This is on top of the 35,000 illegal votes recently found in Georgia, and the over 100,000 obsolete voter registrations, plus thousands of dead people, deleted AFTER the election.
Will the Attorney General of Georgia Chris Carr finally act? How has Governor Brian Kemp allowed this to happen?
"This is corruption at the highest level. Our Nation is at stake!"

Yellow stars or vaccine passports,...take your pick. Both ways were easy to herd the masses..

I doubt anything will happen. I doubt that they will over turn the election results. I highly doubt Trump will be back in power. He has accomplished one thing very well though, he has been able to spin words and phrases so well that he has a lot of followers. But you can’t blame the people, I mean, who doesn’t love the idea of a conspiracy. The idea of a higher secret society that literally has its fingers on the buttons that control the globe. And righteous Trump trying to free the people of these shackles. Fighting for the little guy, while trying to make America great again. It’s a great Hollywood idea. I bet they will make a movie about it one day.
Ok sorry, I got a little carried away. Just out of curiosity, why weren’t all these suspected voter fraud cases dealt with immediately? And especially why wasn’t it checked while Trump was still in power? Why the long, suspenseful wait?
