The Mailloux Affair
“Trudeau says Canadiens' selection of Logan Mailloux shows 'lack of judgment'”
From what I’ve been able to follow, Mailloux has been tried and punished for his lack of youthful short sightedness. He has gone on to apologize for what he did. Where does understanding and forgiveness begin. It would seem he at least deserves some opportunity to demonstrate he has amended his ways, and should be given a change at a productive role within societies. I don’t say as a Montreal Canadian fan, Mr. Trudeau doesn’t have his right to his own personal view of the Malloux’s. affair. However, as this country’s Prime Minister, much that he well may have thought, by giving voice to it, shows an astounding amount of poor judgment. He might just as well lock the kid up in prison and thrown away the key.. . .

Ontario native
Mailloux was charged and fined in Sweden last year after sharing a picture of himself and a young woman engaging in a sexual act. Mailloux has admitted to sharing the photo and said he “deeply regrets” doing so.
Yet the Village Idiot 'apologized' to the lady he groped with a 'we experienced it differently" excuse and it was all OK then.

It’s all part of Trudeau’s “ inclusive “ society is it not?
The kid obviously made a mistake. How old was he, 17,18? How many of us have not made a mistake at that age? We know Trudeau has done MUCH worse and look where he ended up. He is the worse kind of hypocrite!

I wonder if you would feel the same if the victim was related to you?

Canadians' selection of Turdea shows lack of judgement ... in his youth he was a sexist, and continues to show less regard for women. He also does not obey the law. So, I'm not sure I'd be taking this kind of ethical advice from Turdeau .... lol.

That is a very good question Gilroy. I'm not sure how it would make much difference, my two daughters were raised to exercise their brains not to put themselves in such a position of compromise. The issue is not my daughter, and the victim hear is not the woman who placed herself in such a position of compromise. The victim is a young man who for want of maturity did something incredibly short sighted, for which the leader of our country has set him on a course, where he will be paying for his youthful folly for the rest of his life. Of course, our Prime Minister is the first to boast to Canadians that he has their back. This kid could have used a bit of back support, but the PM's mouthing off has driven a knife in this kid's back. You would have thought by now that he might have figured out that words can kill just as effectively as bullets.

You really need to do some research, Mailloux was available for the draft but asked that he not be drafted because he did not show the maturity needed to be drafted. Here is the actual statement from the young man. The Habs did not respect the young mans choice nor the victim, this person wanted time to gain maturity and delay the draft as a way of atoning and the Habs did not care.
“Being drafted into the NHL is an honour and a privilege that no one takes lightly. The NHL Draft should be one of the most exciting landmark moments in a player’s career, and given the circumstances I don’t feel I have demonstrated strong enough maturity or character to earn that privilege in the 2021 Draft. If I were to ever have the honour of being selected I would want a fanbase to be proud to welcome me to their organization. I know it will take time for society to build back the trust I have lost, and that is why I think it is best that I renounce myself from the 2021 NHL Draft and ask that no one select me this upcoming weekend. I feel that this would allow me the opportunity to demonstrate an adequate level of maturity and character next season with the London Knights in the OHL and provide all the NHL teams the opportunity to reassess my character towards the 2022 NHL Draft.”
So yes, the habs choice was idiotic and disrespectful.

In the course of my life I have meet plenty of people who have insulted, embarrassed, compromised other folk's and the MAGIC solution for them is to apologize and they simply think that's good and go right on with their stupid behavior. I try not to behave like that and don't go apologizing all over the place. With today's technology and LONG MEMORY life these types of screw up's have a very long shelf life for both victim and perpetrator so I guess he has done as much harm to himself as the victim.
