Hub Blind Repair
one of the poles let go last year so been looking for replacement poles/hub, then came across a google post where a guy used a driveway marker fiberglass rod. Brilliant idea 5buck at Canadian tire a little bit of drilling and gluing and hub blind is back in action. now off to watch deer hunting videos and get more ideas LOL.

Had one of my hub rods break last year, and used a green CTC plant stake to do the repair - just had to cut the stake to the right length, and its been working fine since.

They are cheaper at the Dollarama... trust me, I have replaced 2 in the same blind. An old green raincoat and Gorilla tape (black) works to repair holes.
Holes were my fault, trying to get tucked in a little too small of a gap, the broken rods wwere due to snow/ice... two seperate occasions.

I have had two hub style blinds and they both were a pain to use and broke easily. I much prefer the doghouse style blind - Ameristep Doghouse. I have one that is still going strong after 4 years now.

Haha! You guys need more bears!
I've got backup poles for years as I usually lose a blind every two years to the bears. I salvage my spare parts and keep them for the next time.

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

Has too much time on their hands
Have you guys ever replaced the actual hubs?
Unfortunately the last blinds we bought had plastic hubs and even with a support pole in the blind we had some of them break under the snow tension and cold. Plastic is not great material for late season hunting in Canada!
Luckily we were able to cannibalize one blind to repair the two others but it will be blinds with metal hubs going forward.
If you have to pitch a blind, keep the hubs. It may save you buying a whole new blind again later.
