Am I the only one that remembers from day one of the vaccine announcements that they clearly said it does not prevent you from catching COVID?

I get both your points but to the best of my recollection nobody said it would prevent the possibility of catching COVID

I think you must be misremembering. Like Mike said when both these mRNA gene therapies came out they were very clear and quick to point out that they were both around 97% effective in preventing covid. That sure sounds like they clearly said it would prevent you from catching covid.
As for your conspiracy theory comment don't you find it strange that pretty well all of them have now been proven to be true, or did you just happen to miss that part?
