So here comes a story some of you might get a kick out of.

i always had fears of driving for a very long time. reasons begin with being in a car when i was a little kid and being in car crashes to knowing lots of people seriously injured by accidents. my anxiety never helped with it and neither did having a low self esteem when i was younger.

fast forward to now and ive grown alot of confidence over the years and decided i was finally going to get on it. signed up for a driving school paid around $450. did the inclass lessons online.

then came for my driving lessons in car. i did very well apparently. then my last lesson comes around, my driving instructor tells me he can book my test for a weeks time ( the 27th of this month) i say awesome and he goes ahead and books it. tells me hes gunna pick me up at X time and that wel be going to barrie for it. ok cool.

i drive back home, get out of the car and he tells me its gunna be 400 bucks. at this point im dead tired as i just worked a overnight shift and had a hour driving lesson with this guy. i didnt know what the rate was or what he was charging me for so i go to my house and ask my sister who had the same driving instructor and she said he charged her 100 bucks 2 years ago to do the exact same thing. at this point i know something is up forsure. i log into drivetest.ca and link my email with my license number and make a password. i see that my test is booked on the date he said etc.

then i call the driving school and talk to the lady on the phone and ask for the breakdown. she couldnt give me one all she said was you know its in barrie and hes gotta drive there and back and we know people at the ministry who get us close test dates etc. so i say uh no thats way to expensive and my sister did the exact same thing and you guys charged her 100 bucks 2 years ago. she tries telling me im lying to her thats impossible etc. okay cool.

she calls back and says the instructor can do it for 350. i say uh yeah no thanks ill just go on my own with a relatives car. she then tries to tell me i cant do that because its booked under the instructors car. another 2 days pass and they start calling me non stop telling me that i have to pay the cancelation fee, i say uh for what? im not canceling it i said ill go on my own. another 2 days pass and they start calling me non stop today trying to get me top cancel it. i said no again and that im going to go on my own they then finally tell me that i have to pay the instructor the booking fee then and i say how much is that then she studders and tells me 60 bucks. perfect thanks i send him 60 bucks and im going on the 27th with my own car.


FUNNY THING IS WHILE HE WAS BOOKING MY TEST HE WAS ON THE PHONE WITH ANOTHER KID HE WAS GOING TO TAKE FOR HIS TEST AT THE SAME TIME FOR ANOTHER 400 BUCKS.


stay away from these driving schools. its all a scam. half the time he showed me something once and was on the phone for the rest of the hour.

its ministry approved. ill be reporting them in a day or two. the guy knows im on overnight shifts and he literally called me non stop all morning. crossed the line with me big time

taking my moms automatic buick,

i think its because i linked my drivetest account to my email and made a pasword they werent able to cancel the test themselves. so they cut their losses and took the 60 bucks. looking back i shoudlnt have even paid them the 60 bucks and blocked them from contacting me.


anyone know where i would report this behavior to? would love to see them get their school renounced as an ontario driving school.

Not sure who to report it to but I seen something similar on the news so you are not the only one these guys are trying to get some extra cash out of. Good luck with the test...
