Is it That Bad?
I may be out of the loop on this.. but I just initiated a purchase from a company in Quebec. 20 dollar bag of primed shotgun hulls, nothing else. They want $58 for shipping!?!?
It was with UPS. There was no other option.
Last I heard Canpar was having issues but I did not keep up on it. Anyone know what the deal is? Is shipping ammo now through the roof in Canada?

I think this is just another way of gouging people ,and using Covid shortages and perhaps Canpar ,as an excuse.
I saw this on small dinky things like gun cleaning patches.
Both Amazo USA Amazon CA,even EBay.
Not available-not availble-not availabe-BINGO,available at reasonable cost+ SAME or more shipping and handling(handling being the wild card).
They could say-Take it or leave it! too(but they are pretending to be nice)
Sucks.

That was already pretty common on Amazon & Ebay. My GF shopped on Amazon a lot.. lots of smaller items that seem like a good deal until you see the stupid shipping charges. They must get a few people who don't notice?? I dunno...
Quebec is different. They charge tax even if you're out of province. My 19.99 bag of hulls came to $88.

Probably charging you a premium because of the primers. Unless your desperate, I would walk away on principle i.e. shipping costs 2X more than product

I would be contacting the nearest gun range where they shoot trap or skeet, and you probably could get all the hulls you wanted for free!

It is because of the primers, they have to use UPS due to the hazard of primers. I just ordered a bunch of stuff, would have been $25 shipping but when I toss in primers and powder that jumped up to $60. I still saved money on the rest of the parts though, about the same price as it would have been if I could have bought them locally but nothing local has the dies, bullets, primers or powder in stock.

I load bismuth/hevi/hw-15 for my 20 gauges. I still shoot steel and reload it for 12ga but stick to factory steel for the 20. The amount of loading did not warrant another press. I just bought a roll crimp die and have only been loading new, primed hulls. I was ordering them.. now it looks like I'm SOL.

Was that bullets for loading or loaded ammo?

Fox.. yeah, I figured that out this morning. I did another "cart" with fired hulls.. $18 shipping with Canada Post.
Well doesn't this just suck. Is anyone ordering ammo? Is shipping within the Province worth it?

I find myself ordering ammo online more now than I ever have(which was basically never), mostly because 2 of my local shops have closed and once I find something I like I tend to stick with it and sometimes that means ordering it online. If you find a price you can live with then order more than you need. The shipping costs don't change much whether you order 2 boxes or 10.

Cantgetright.. I hear ya. Are you ordering in province or out.. both? Do they change much at all? Or is it like $60 for ammo regardless of distance.
I would do a bulk order but most of their items are out of stock due to covid and supply issues. I cannot get the wads/hulls I use within Ontario but I was ordering ammo prior to may 27th.
