    It's an excellent article and quite accurate. Mandatory OHEP and hunter orange have been the most successful safety campaigns ever launched.

    For you old-timers, what was the general feeling towards the OHEP when it was first implemented? Was it popular, or viewed negatively by hunters? I suppose there was a grandfathering clause which exempted existing hunters from having to take the course?
    My father arrived from Europe back in the early 70s, and I doubt he ever had to take the course. He couldn't even speak English at first.
