Yes something needs to be changed regarding unclaimed tags.

Not his fault. People are doing this because they can with this new screwed up system.

The MNR must change this to make it mandatory for second chance tags to be claimed by a certain time, just like they did for the first chance draw. It does not make sense that they don't have to be claimed and successful second chance applicants will still get a point.

This way others will get a change at the unclaimed second change tags, either by way of a third chance draw or go in surplus tag pool available on a first come first served basis as they had last year.

Maddening? Not really. How is it different than drawing a tag and not going due to work/family conflict etc.? Happened all the time under the old system as well. I claimed a surplus tag 2 years ago then couldn’t go due to work. Took the tag from someone else then didn’t use it but such is life, don’t have the benefit of a crystal ball

Depends of the circumstance though-now with this system ppl can and do choose IF THEY are willing to use up their points for something marginally important to THEM.
So-they apply,they get the tag-then they change their minds.Not that the life is in a way.

They are taking away the opportunity from someone else, and that is a fact for sure.



No offence to the OP(thank You for bringing the dilemma up)-but are we not talking about this RIGHT here, RIGHT now?
