Use what you have if it works for you now, save the money, maybe better materials, or spend the $200 on a weekend trip or guided trip or course. For many years I used a large C clamp a large vise grip and a needle nose vise grip or needle nose pliers to hold the hook, I used that until I got a good one at a garage sale, still use that one.

Now that said, it is nice to have the best tool, if money is OK and you are serious about changing, besides the feed back here (that might or might not work for you)
throw a fly tying party and let people try each others equipment and offer tips, make some friends drink some beer and eat BBQ etc
go to a club like Izaac Walton, see what others use, if what you are interested in is there talk to them and they might let you try it,
go to the store and ask if you can try it.... spending $200 on something that doesn't work for you just means someone gets a deal on Kijiji in 2 years (where you might get what you want) and you are using the old one or shopping again.

Good luck and let others know what you got and your experience.

Good points from Mosquito. I enjoy the fly fishing club belong to two of them, helps pass the winter. For inspiration on the peak, check out Ruben Martin Flies on YouTube.
