Dove hunting
Buddy is on his way try to dove hunt
Question
20 gauge I put in two cyd chokes is that good choice steel will be tighter pattern correct?

Yes. Steel shot patterns are tighter than lead and dove shots are generally closer. When shooting steel for dove I use cyl and skeet.

The only way to tell is to actually pattern your gun. Shot size will make a big difference as well. TC

I know don’t really have a lot of dove but he had liver replacement surgery4 years ago doing very well btw and wanted to hunt doves he bought decoys sure I’ll hunt with you

So we get set up about 2:00 pm. 3 eagles floating over us then 3:30 5 toms walk along I’m use to seeing then he had the 5 less than 10’ from him and he’s like Dave can you believe this s”””” I can almost touch them
Toms didn’t run or fly away just turns walked back from where them came
then we watched them walk across field where 2 hens had 12 little ones. Watched the 19 turkeys till 5:00
Packed up decided to go town to eat. 8 doves sitting on hydro lines at end of my driveway. Tomorrow we’ll see if we can set up get them in the morning
Couple deer came out eating clover for while then went back into bush
Fun afternoon
