A Sunday gun hunting question?
Is it legally to hunt deer with a bow during opening season in a municipality where Sunday gun hunting is not allowed?

In general yes-but You need to check local by law for your location-the season applicable for Your WMU-and must see Controlled deer season impact on Sunday hunts.

Historically it was against the law to discharge firearms for the purpose of hunting on Sunday as part of the Lord's Day Act. ( i believe the reference to firearms in this case meant rifles or shotgun) it was indicative of a noise by law effecting worship services, which made little sense because you could target practice all day with a rifles or shotguns on Sunday. At the time there was no restriction on hunting with bows and arrows simply because they made little noise. That said bows and arrows are classed under the FWCA as a firearm, so you might wish to check with the MNRF to see if the historical perspective hasn't been modified.
You don't stop hunting because you grow old. You grow old because you stop hunting.

You will need to check the wording of the bylaw of your municipality. The Sunday ban could include all weapons or just firearms.
