Default Trapper Licence Card no more

Maybe I missed it or am out of the loop but this is what I got in the mail. Usually I get something the size of a credit card and needs to be signed. Did they get away from that so now we only get a piece of paper saying we got a current trappers licence. I did take a picture of it on my phone and plan on leaving the 8.5x11 sheet of paper in my truck (too big for my wallet).....Maybe a true trapper can confirm this is the new norm...What a silly thing to do.

Ya, that was my thought as well but I seen this on Facebook so not sure if I was the only one to get a regular paper one.

    Ontario Fur Managers Federation

Notice to members: We started on August 4 issuing trapping licences for the 2021/22 season. They are being mailed out daily. Please look at the envelop and contents carefully when you receive them. Your licence has changed as per the MNRF article on Page 48 in the OFMF summer magazine explains. This change was implemented by MNRF as the accessibility branch did not approve of the font size on the former Licence and Mandatory Harvest Report. OFMF did managed to get MNRF to agree to print this new style licence on waterproof and tear proof paper. OFMF tested the paper out and it works perfect. Sorry for any inconvenience or confusion with the new licence. OFMF goal was to try and ensure the licence was waterproof and tear resistant. It is a Government licence and form which they do have control over making changes. Happy and safe trapping this season!

I haven't received mine yet but the change was mentioned in the latest magazine from the ofmf. I can't believe that they expect us to carry this. I'll also be leaving mine in the truck.

    Funny isn't it.
Back in the day - when they introduced the "Outdoors Card" they said it would cut down on the number of paper licenses you have to carry in your wallet when hunting/fishing.
Now I have to print out an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet for my bear tag, deer tag, license summary and any other crap I need to carry.
I feel like wheeling a filing cabinet out to my deer blind so when I get checked I can open the cabinet and have all the papers filed alphabetically.
    It is insane.
