Couldn't ask for a nicer morning

Couldn't ask for a nicer morning cool clear the promise of a bit of wind just knew the birds would be flying. A better waterfowler or luckier one could of limitied out today but all I could muster was 4.
Call it lazy or inattentive my first mistake was not paying attention to the wind direction. When I set up there wasn't a breeze but the forcast was for a north wind so thats what I designed for. At sunrise the breeze came up and I was off by about 20 degrees. Figured what the heck shouldn't be that big of a deal. Well the first 2 flocks sure enough took the wind and landed behind and to the right offering no shot. Took the cue lined up the layout with the wind and was off to the races. Although the birds responded well too the call as the sun rose after that only a bit of flagging was needed to turn the birds my way.In between the geese enjoyed a hugh flight of mallards torrnato the field even had some woodducks land amongst the decoys.

My boys and some friends dusted a bunch of Geese yesterday. They found a wheat field that was holding a bunch of birds.
They put the duck blind in today on Rondeau Bay for the season. We are heading out Saturday for opening day.....can't wait
