    Default ATV gun holder

    What is everyone using ?

I ended up with a polaris 570 touring. it was the only 2 up I could find in covid market.

trying to decide if I should get a gun boot ? they all say it scratches the gun.

or the rack holders ? but doesnt the gun need to be in a case in a vehicle ? also branches and other stuff might scratch the gun ?

or maybe a DIY plastic gun case zip tied to the rack ?

    TIA

I have gun boot on my side x side. It has more padding inside than hard guncase
you can still put you gun in a sock then in boot for extra protection

I made a wood case for the front rack, full foam padding on inside. I hate them big awkward plastic cases that hang off the side of the bike, Feel like I'm going to catch it on a tree and rip it off. Lol

NO,firearms do NOT need to be in a case on/in a vehicle while hunting. They must, however, be unloaded. I have a Kolpin gun boot and mount that I use occassionally with a gun sock, but,I much prefer the foam-lined hard case which I've attached to the front carrier of my quad. With only one clip holding it closed,I can get at my rifle a lot quicker than messing with the gun boot.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

I use a gun boot bolted to the back rack on an angle into the foot rest but don't put the lid on it. I just throw a soft bungee cord over the stock to keep it from bouncing around and it allows for quick easy access. Mine is the 2 piece, I know some of them have the lid attached with a hinge. It's not perfect, but it's an option.

Depends on how you are going to use your bike. Going through bush and crap, I’d look at a good gun boot mounted on the bike. They are well padded as others have said. Running logging roads etc., the gun mounts on your front rack would work fine. I’ve used, both. I just picked up a double Kolpin gun mount, I mounted to the rear bar on my Argo seat. I got it from Amazon.

I have had a gun boot on my bike for 15 years. It has a removable soft case inside the boot which is nice if you drive part way and still walk part way in the dark. Never had to worry about scratching the gun. My brother put a set of rhino grips on it as well when he borrowed it but I don't like them. Kept kicking them off as I can't get my old leg over top so took them off. Would work better on the front if I didn't have a storage box. Also the gun boot attaches in seconds if you aren't hunting.

I have both the Kolpin grips for the front rack and a detachable gun boot.

The Kolpin grips are also good for tools like shovels, a rake, fishing rod, net, etc.

meh, i couldnt be bothered spending money on another case that simply goes on the atv.

we put our guns in our cases or socks and bungie cord them to the front or back rack.
