La Palma Eruption
Pretty awesome live view here:

Lots of implications for the east coast if this eruption takes a certain course.
It keeps intensifying every time they think it's quieting down too:

This can't be good for our Paris Accord goals
But then again, all that ash in the atmosphere will cool the earth down some.

Nice video's, shows how infinitesimally irrelevant we are in the big picture. And all the climate taxes in the solar system won't make a mouse farts worth of difference.

True enough! The other fun fact about this volcano is its geographic location and the implications for a massive east coast tsunami if certain parts of the volcanic island were to fall into the ocean.

Not sure if lava flowing into the water would create a huge wave...but the ground tremors may trigger an earthquake under water and that would most defiantly be a risk.

Yeah exactly, not the lava but if it had come as a more violent eruption involving intense earthquakes and landslides. Large chunks of earth falling into the sea or the earthquakes themselves could cause the tsunami.
I guess what's notable about this one is it begun as a relatively mild-mannered volcano but has been ramping up in activity.

Ya I watched that program a while back, the eastern seaboard could end up looking like an abandoned beach littered with destroyed habitation.

Another good live feed in the above link. Eruption activity is increasing again. Earthquake activity is also picking up. This one seems to be far from over.

Maybe they can get a tax to fight it.
