Cabelas and basspro have the same thing going on.

Its very weird, cabelas has alot of ammo in stock.

Go to basspro and its become such a crap shoot they've put rifle and shotgun ammo in the same display cases because they have almost nothing.

Its interesting to me that basspro is the united States chain so you would think they would be getting more shipments. I talked to a few guys and they are just as confused as I am on the whole thing.

You are aware that Cabela's and Bass Pro are the same company...

Cabela's Inc. is a subsidiary of Bass Pro Shops, an American direct marketer and specialty retailer of outdoor recreation merchandise based in Sidney, Nebraska. Cabela's was founded by Richard N.

Was in Cabelas Barrie the other day-looked at ammo,30-06,243 and 22 lr.
Looked at all other Calibers juts for fun.

Interesting that the 30-06 was "almost"non existent on the shelves, few selection, few boxes...........,yet many many .270?

Maybe telling the Cal preference up there?

    I’m glad that I reload… I’ve got lots of 30-06 .

This has been going on for months south of the border. Biden getting elected along with covid related supply/production shortages. Everyone started panic buying whatever they could and prices went up. None of the "big three" ammo makers have rebates this fall (they usually start up in August).
I had heard that production at Federal was currently on hold. The reason... no primers. I always thought an outfit like Federal would manufacture their own, the reality is they probably get them made overseas?
Boss Shotshells is a direct order business based in Michigan (not available in Canada). They put out a notice to their customers some time ago basically saying "get what we have available now". They are trying to navigate component shortages, apparently. They make their own shot in-house, but wads and hulls come from places like Italy.

I've got all the ammunition I want to reload, and an ample supply of empty rifle brass and shotshell shell cases.

The Basspro in Vaughan is no way the same store as the Cabela's in Barrie. The Cabela's in Barrie is way better stocked on everything except hunting clothes where the edge goes to the Vaughan store. I couldn't even find a bottle of gun oil at the Vaughan store, nevermind ammo. I think the Vaughan store is going down fast.

Also the Vaughan store is neither listed as a Cabela's location nor a Basspro store, so you can't tell if they have stock before you go there.

I was at SAIL and it is just a SAIL thing. They want to make sure everyone gets some but it is funny because you can keep coming back over and over.

Fishing World had Remington 12GA 2-3/4" Accutips and I bought 4 boxes and they did not bat an eye. Now 20GA Accutips are still tough to find.
