Default Canada's food price report 2021

The topic of increased food costs was in the news this week, saw and read quite a bit on it. Looks like we're going to see cost increases to the average family about $700 this year.

Not surprisingly, NOT a single mention in this article, for one, on the effect that the Carbon Tax has contributed to the rising costs of having our food shipped in from around the world. It's obviously a factor, but it's NOT being mentioned in discussions to explain why the increased cost in our daily lives. It's become a dirty little secret.

To top it off...the latest carbon emissions report for 2020 shows the Green House Gases have actually increased since Carbon Taxes was introduced. They only dropped 5.6% in total when the world shut down is 2019 for the pandemic but have recovered back 5% since the lockdowns have begun to open up again.

I guess the Politicians don't think we, the taxpayers, can "handle the truth"..or they don't want us to know the truth... HaHa..

The 11th annual edition of Canada’s Food Price Report forecasts an overall food price increase of 3 to 5% for 2021. The most significant increases are predicted for meat at 4.5 to 6.5%, bakery at 3.5 to 5.5%, and vegetables at 4.5 to 6.5%.

This year’s report also takes into account the diversity of Canadian families by calculating average food expenditure by individual consumer based on age and gender, rather than for an ‘average’ Canadian family. For example, based on a family including a man (age 31-50), woman (age 31-50), boy (age 14-18) and girl (age 9-13), the annual food expenditure is predicted to be $13,907 in 2021, an increase of up to $695 (5%) compared to 2020.
