Sasquatch or Chupacabra. Seriously though none of the bears I have killed had any type of strong smell.

If it wasn’t a skunk, could be a Bear or some other animal that got sprayed by a skunk?

Bears do not smell skunky having skinned many of them. They smell identical to a wet dog that hasn't been bathed in weeks. Not a pleasant smell, but not skunky. As for hunting bears french river, I wouldn't bother with calls. You want to just place bait and be as quiet as possible.

When turned back towards the spot ,i smelled a very strong skunky smell.Really close-like 30 m or so.
Full foliage is up-can not see a thing.
Waited-could be a bear?Coming to the call-and noticing me?
Then few minutes passed with no smell.
Then again, the smell was there ,a bit less strong....
Could that be a bear ?Or other then the obvious-skunk

....(do not belive weed smokers were trampling in the area)
