Then I heard crashes behind me my gator side by side is parked behind my blind hmm
Then six point walks out super close to blind on my left put crossbow up only have butt shot he’s looking at the does and fawns. Then he turns giving me a shot pull trigger Damn safety is on argh

Click safety of have to wait just butt in my face then once again he gives me side shot shoot. He give tiny little jump and just starts walking to my right

I’m thinking I missed I shot through screen and that shot ripped 3”x6” strip out of screen

Does just turn and look at blind like what was that sound. Buck walks slowly but I see the wobble wobble
Now he’s to my right 6 does in front of me and I hear crash

He made it maybe 50yd then just walked into bush and crashed

So what your trying to say is that it didn't go as planned

I got out of the habit of leaving the safety on once the firearm/xbow is loaded and pointing downrange. No need for it to be engaged unless you move it away from pointing down range. Cost me too many deer in the early years making that mechanical click when I was set to shot.

Congrats on a decent Buck...his behavior sounds like he was in Rut already. How was his neck ? Hard to tell from that angle in the pic.
