Veterinary
Anyone know of and can recommend a veterinary in the GTA or within a reasonable driving distance, that is aware of the rigours and demanding conditions performing bird dogs are required to endure ? Preferably one that is a hunter himself and understands and appreciates our demanding needs. I'm sick of dealing with over charging Cockapoo and lap dog experts that don't have a clue about bird dogs and don't have the capacity to recognize the difference between a fit, lean bird dog it top physical form and condition from a malnutritional one. WTF !

I cant specifically say if this vet knows a damn about bird dogs but he is very knowledgeable. He is also one of a very few multi-animal vets in the GTA.
Give them a shout.

makes a big difference on the vet. I'm not anywhere near gta. My vet doesn't hunt, but her husband is an avid duck hunter and they have several labs, so I'm glad i go to her. She is partial to labs too. her and i had a good cry when I put my last boy down.

I think the visit fee is $95, which is more, than most GTA vets.
As for GTA, there was a vet who was a hunter in Richmond Hill, I think he retired, Dr Parmegianni.
There's a vet on the board here, who's a hunter. If he wants more business, he'll can self id.

I used Dr. Parmegianni for decades and he used to charge me a "fraction" of what other vets charge for vaccines. He retired a few years ago and sadly I found out just a couple of weeks ago that he passed away earlier this year.
