Won’t know until reporting is done on how bad wide spread EHD is in wmu 69 and may not really know we are loaded with coyotes so bad in this wmu they would be just feeding on the deer I thought never see this in my life so sad my guess the doe tags will be cut big time for next year

One thing i do not understand-why EHD did not wipe out all the whitetail down south?
Like-all experts say-this is a disease controlled by frost and winter.Midgets die-virus dies.
There are MANY areas in the USA,have a whole lot milder climate then us. Deer flourishes there.
Am i missing something?

This is all going too end up being political all about money I’ve hunted this wmu69 for 25 years and the last 15 years there has been steady drop in deer numbers nothing has been done about it doe tags have remained the same I live west of Kingston in loyalist town ship - greater napanee this was one of the best deer hunting areas in all of Ontario at one time now it’s we been calling on mnr to reduce doe tags and reduce gun hunting and bow hunting so the numbers can bounce back now we are dealing with EHD all the reports coming from hunters that hunt this area are all saying the same no ing deer but they don’t change the the tag quota 30 deer die test 2 give me brake let’s start doing some fly overs and get mnr in the bush to see the real numbers from EHD die off because that’s what we are dealing with any one is familiar with Taylor Kidd boulevard goes from county rd 4 to Collins bay rd into Kingston you will always see deer anytime of year its all private land own by bombard transportation and township I haven’t seen deer there since end of July and travel it twice a day going too work and my parents live rate there just like moose population in Ontario mnr it up this province is one the worst poorly ran wild life management provinces in Canada the tree huggers have more of say then hunters that are putting the money into wild life management
