    Default Sat afternoon sit

I was out at the farm putting my boat away for the season and my other buddy gave me a couple of cell cameras that he just had fixed and were ready to be hung on a tree. I decided I was going to go back to the farm and hang the cameras and have a little sit while I was there. No one could get out for a hunt as everyone had plans that evening so I went solo. I set one up one camera by a creek and then walked 300 yds west to the double stand that I was going to sit in that evening. When I got to the stand the conditions were not ideal as the winds were pretty strong & gusty and it was blowing almost directly into my back but I decided to sit anyway and see what happens. I set up the second camera about 20yds to the left of the stand, climbed the stand and pulled my bow up and settled in.

At about 4:30PM I saw a doe just to my right and it walked away disappearing in the scrub. 30 minutes later I looked behind me and I saw 4 does 40 yds out.......then 2 more showed up. I watched them for about 15 minutes as they were unaware of my presence and finally they took off south to the bean field. The last thing I wanted to do is be dealing with a downed deer by myself so I let them walk.

I was contemplating sneaking out when I heard a rustle and I look to the left and see a doe standing directly in front of the camera I just put up. I watched her for about 10 minutes and at one point she was staring right at me as I took her picture - LOL.

I waited for her to walk away, then climbed down and snuck out headed back to my truck. Amazing action for a night I would have thought would have been a bust - go figure!!

lots of fun. sits like that when we dont pull the trigger makes it just as worthwhile. i was watching a few does play the other evening. they were running back and forth through the field like puppies.
