Not always do you get answers, sometimes they refuse to give them such as in the NS Shooter

If you're going to quote me...at least get it right. my post: "Sounds like he was assassinated."

Nothing wrong with 'speculating', makes for good discussion/debate.
The Oxford definition of "speculate" is to "form a theory or conjecture about a subject without firm evidence." I'll wait until there is firm evidence.

Yea they withheld the types of guns he used for almost 6 months....when in a normal situation, we usually know in a day or two. When they fail disclose information, a gag order, it's usually political in nature.

Some good advice from the local MPP

Investigation must 'take its course,' MPP says of shooting death

Toby Barrett is calling for patience as the investigation into the shooting death of Rodger Kotanko continues.

“I understand that the public is looking for answers on this matter,” the Haldimand Norfolk MPP said in a public statement issued on Friday. “It is important to let the investigation take its course.”

Around noon Nov. 3, members of the Toronto Police Service executed a search warrant at Kotanko’s shop, next to his house on Port Ryerse Road, west of Port Dover. He was shot four times while inside the shop and died of his injuries. Few details of the interaction have emerged since the Special Investigations Unit launched a probe into the matter.

Seventy-year-old Kotanko was known to be a skilled gunsmith.

About 75 people gathered at Kotanko’s Norfolk County home on Thursday for a news conference. Simcoe lawyer Michael Smitiuch spoke on behalf of the Kotanko family.

Barrett said his office has received numerous emails and telephone from “concerned residents” across Haldimand-Norfolk and across the province.

“On behalf of people in our area and, personally, I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, neighbours and longtime clients of Rodger Kotanko,” said Barrett.

Barrett said that, when he learned of the shooting, he contacted the Ontario Solicitor General’s office.

“I was told that when an officer in Ontario discharges their firearm, the Special Investigations Unit is required to investigate to determine the circumstances, as well as to determine whether charges should be laid.”

The SIU is an arm’s-length body that investigates deaths, serious injuries and allegations of sexual assault that occur during the course of policing.

“As an office-holder I was also advised to avoid commenting on the situation pending the outcome of the investigations,” said Barrett.

    Good! People are demanding answers.

"Barrett said his office has received numerous emails and telephone from “concerned residents” across Haldimand-Norfolk and across the province."

The arm is still tied to the body hence the problem.

Not an order but advice and good advice too. Should criminal charges be laid at some point comments by a public office holder could become part of the process and potentially jeopardize any prosecution.
