How long are we going to call it unethical meanwhile all the deer I shoot are quickly dispatched and I have yet to wound a single deer in my 10 years of archery hunting? I have no idea, and not challening You! At the other hand-anyone can be lucky.
How long are we going to be outraged about what-if scenarios that clearly aren't happening? As long as these shots are taken and the result are posted in public. You do what you do-no one can tell You othervise -but You can not tell others what they think or say either.
About the scorpyd remark, if I like a product and it performs well in a situation I'll be sure to point it out. It may not be the product you use, but I have the same right to appreciate it the same way others might appreciate their excalibur xbow without being accused of "being paid" like others have accused me of. I am not sure wht to say on this one- Excalibur crossbows are owned by tens of thousands of Ontarians, hard to imagine having them ALL being "paid" to promote Excalibur products. Not so much Skorpyds are out there though.....Nothing agains the product!!! Then-Windsor is the Location of the Skorpyd Distributor for Canada.........!
And about the jealousy remark. I agree to a point. Most people honestly have the best intentions and they're coming from experience. But almost all criticism I experience off this forum is from rifle hunters that have little to no experience taking deer with archery. Not sure in this one either-many ppl posting here with remarks on the long shot are archery hunters too-allow me to say that,i am on the Forum for 10 years or so,seen it all.
If I didn't fill a tag during rifle season and saw nothing but deer flicking their tails at me at 70 yards during archery season then who knows, I might be a bit bitter about some guy taking that shot. This is just a speculation, which likely will bring no friends to the cause.
I hope i answered all your questions. The way i see it.

I'd say you did. For the first part I agree, she cooperated. Which is why I took the shot. One fact that is constantly ignored is that deer don't acknowledge the sound at that distance, let alone register as a danger enough to bolt immediately. As for the second last part when I said "Off this forum" I meant "Outside this forum" I can see the confusion.

Nice shot. I wouldn't take it but congrats that you actually took it and got her down.
Lots of people here i can see are angry with this, and this is why I sometimes decide not to tell some stories on here. It is what it is.
I wonder how many of the angry guys have taken questionable shots and how many stories they hold back.
Good for you and congrats again.

You are going to get beat up on a forum like this for taking a 90 yard shot with a bow. Let it go and next time think before you boast. It archery equipment not a gun. Think..

Some will try to beat him up, others will compliment him and encourage him to post, I am pretty sure he thinks.
Maybe you should look at all the amazing deer he has harvested in his previous posts and at what distances and you will become a believer.
Technology of all hunting equipment has improved vastly and perhaps you are a little behind the times.
I am sure the long bow English archers were laughed at by the French archers in the middle ages about how far they could send an arrow, they laughed right up until they were slaughtered by those said bows and arrows.

To each their own.
If he is comfortable at making those long distance shots with a bow and is consistently hitting his mark than I don't have a problem with that, me for one wouldn't do it but that's me as I'm not that good, I remember a few years ago I was criticized on this forum for shooting at running deer with a rifle but that's how we hunt in our group and works for us as we have doggers and sitters.

LMAO hey Original Poster your gonna run out of forums to be on man! You keep getting trashed for the same damn kinda posts. You will only keep wounding deer and get jumped on strings. Lol sorry everyone didn’t want my 1st post to be a negative one, i just couldn’t resist. The interesting thing about these topics is it separates the hunters from the shooters. Most ethical hunters that can take a shot at 100yrds will not. I for myself can, no problem but would I at a deer? NOP! The guys who I call the shooters are the guys that can take that shot and will also take that shot at a deer. “I am talking bow” . It’s what separates the ethical hunters from the lucky shooters.

Funny how you say "keep wounding deer" but I have yet to wound a deer. Especially not at a distance. This isn't facebook. You're not going to get by with that same kinda childish judgement over here. Doesn't matter though. Those who've gotten familiar with me on here like Gilroy, Articcat, and several others know my capabilities.

A lot of assumptions made with very little evidence. As a first time poster did you take the care and attention to look at the previous posts made by this hunter? If you had you would have seen the previous hunting success's and hopefully tempered your first post. I think I would have posted a few of your own successful hunts and introduced yourself to the forum and established some credibility before such comments. He is not going to run out of forums as he is an established member on here in good standing. But I can see why you may have run out of forums to be on man.
