    Default Calton Swamp

Hoping someone can provide any insight into whether waders or a canoe is best for hunting Calton Swamp. I was out several times last year to scout the swamp and most of the blinds appeared to be over small sections of the marsh where the water seemed "shallow". Anyone have experience hunting at Calton that can recommend whether waders or a canoe is best? FYI, I have both but the canoe is easier with two people and I generally hunt alone for waterfowl.

    Thanks in advance!

I've never been there. But I wear waders in my canoe and set decoys while walking in the water.
If you can't wade it your diver duck hunting!

I haven’t been there in a few years put got by fine with waders. Canoe might be overkill for that place.

Thanks for the info! I guess it depends on water levels after a solid rain like yesterday. I'll hunt with waders and hope for the best!

Hi guys, I haven't had a chance to get out yet. Scheduling just hasn't quite worked out between my wife returning to work and me watching the kids...focusing on deer season now!

If you don't have a retriever and you try to wade to get your ducks you'll get wet. Been there done that. Caltons where I caught my duck hunting bug many years ago.
