That's good news. It was looking pretty dismal for a while. With compettion being fierce,furs will need to be pristine. That's a tall order.

There's Chinese buyers on Facebook predator pages trying to buy hides.

Not sure if it's a scam or what but he wants to meet me in Toronto and buy everything I got. Don't know if I should do this or keep my freezer full of hides I keep saying I'm going to toss them if they worthless lol

Be very wary of anything coming off Facebook. If you meet with anyone,take someone with you,meet in a public place.

Buddy of mine says...."Terrible, small ones didn't sell and we were luck to get 25 for a larger ones" in regards to beaver?

The lead in paragraph makes it look like the latter.

A lot depends on the species. For my area, muskrats were the only species that were paying decent. The price for beavers, otters, fishers and racoons doesn't warrant going after them hard. You can check out the auction results here:

I notice that the 2022 forecast doesn't bode well for eastern Coyote pelts and the valuation will likely reflect that. That makes it problematic for eastern hunters and trappers whether to bother skinning them out. It would cost more to prepare a hide and ship it than to pass on them altogether.

Probably making this statement based on the sheer volume of fur they had to move since Nafa went to pot. Numbers would have gone through the roof as they are now managing the big pie that they formerly had only a share of. Cant say the same for the trapper. It's far past the point of being economically viable, even as a hobby. You're going in the hole the minute your tires leave the driveway. Rats are probably the only thing I'd tinker with if the itch gets too strong and I have to get out.
