Default Trappers in the newmarket area

    Hello all,

My grandmother has a piece of property just outside Newmarket. Last year we had some great deer on it, but i didnt have my hunting license. Now that I have my license, no deer. Only 1 day time deer since mid October.

Combination of a bad summer with those gypsy moths and no apples on the trees and the excessive coyote population has me thinking its time to take a few out.

I have no interest in processing pelts myself but I don't mind taking them to someone who will. If there is anyone who can help/ interested in pelts let me know. I haven't put in any time for yotes yet as its still deer season but I should have plenty of time over the winter.

Also, 12G round suggestions out of a full choke. I should be getting a 270 after Christmas, I know this is overkill for yotes but it will be my all round rifle.

    Thank you!

No such thing as overkill. Use whatever shoots best in the .270.

I like #4 buck, 00Buck and 000 buck out of full choke. All 3 pattern good in my gun so I shoot all 3....should test your gun to see what it likes....mod choke might be better.

3.5" 00 buck is my favorite, 18 pellets.

For the 270 find some 100 gr or 120gr little lite for deer hot on coyotes

    Be careful with bullet construction.
Coyote hunting with 270 on ground level can be outright dangerous(not that 243 or 222 or else is much better).

That is why they invented the varmint bullets-they disintegrate upon impact(hitting the target or the next twig)thus GREATLY decreasing your chances to kill someone in the next ZIP code.
Solid ,stiff or bonded bullets are the worst for ricochet or pass thru, leaving the area uncontrollably and flying into unknown.

12G slugs kill alot of yotes during deer season around here. when i rabbit hunt i pack slugs and #2 lead. if i know they are kicking around and im still wanting to be ready to shoot a rabbit, i'll just load up with #2 lead and you're good within about 50 yards.
as long as you dont care about the pelt, 270 will kill em dead.
