Ontario reported 4,177 new cases of the virus -- more than two-thirds of which are in people who are fully vaccinated -- in what was the highest daily tally since April 23.

The province's science advisers have said two doses of COVID-19 vaccine are only 35 per cent effective against the variant three months after being administered, while a third dose bumps efficacy up to 75 per cent.

The idea of the general public being in a state of fear is laughable. I find that many on here believe too convincingly that the rest of the population is running scared, while heroically they themselves are not. This is absurd. What I see in most of the public is carrying on with their lives while taking precautions wherever they can. Nothing wrong with being cautious. But to believe these people have “ the fear of god” in them, come on? Seriously?

I think some on here have forgotten the origins of the COVID, its not a simple flu if we believe it originated in China under suspicious circumstances. It will not simply run its course if it has been a man made manipulated virus. So to take precautions given the origins seem very reasonable.

Influenza (flu) and COVID-19 are both contagious respiratory illnesses, but they are caused by different viruses. COVID-19 is caused by infection with a coronavirus first identified in 2019, and flu is caused by infection with influenza viruses. COVID-19 seems to spread more easily than flu.

Some say you can only get it once but the way its changing who knows. If it's what I had the end of 2019 my wife never got sick she took care of me and she always gets sick. I suspected she had it the last Sars outbreak long ago .

But all that is speculation .

If it takes all the long haulers next time I could make that list.
Only time will tell but this won't be our last pandemic and the next one could be far worse.

Apparently 10 people in the hospital in the uk with omicron. I heard it was at 15 the other day after cases absolutely sky rocketed.

I see UK has had 93,045 COVID-19 cases (80% Omicron) It accounted for 65 patients in England's hospitals on Friday, the HSA said, with the number of deaths remaining at one.

With those numbers, you'd think some of the Hysteria would be dampened...instead, the MSM is inflaming them based on "cases' not ramifications the variant.
