Omicron Numbers
Through all the MSM Hysteria, the numbers tell the truth
Ontario has 4,600 positive cases of the Omicron variant...resulting in only 15 Hospital admissions.
Regardless of what MSM is saying.....Omicron's symptoms are 'mild' ...
Better chance of catching a common cold or flu standing out in the cold for 5 hours to get a test to find out if you're sick

Most media outlets I’ve paid attention to, are cautiously in agreement with you. It seems to be milder. Then again I’m not on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram or anything else. Not sure what hysteria there is, other than the government taking precautions.

Government reaction is considerably more than "taking precautions". MSM have been literally foaming-at-the-mouth chicken littles with sensationalism, disinformation, fearmongering and outright lies. Kneejerk reactions reverting to more lockdowns takes a huge step backwards. At last, people are starting to cast a very critical eye at media and government bureaucracy. It's high time this craziness comes to a screaming halt and we start following the money. Something about this entire thing is stinking like dead fish.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

News from South Africa..gound zero:
Yes it is 'mild' even there with low vaccinations rates
In the weeks since the variant was detected, South Africa has experienced rapid spread of the virus. The seven-day rolling average of daily new cases in the country rose over the past two weeks f
rom 8.07 new cases per 100,000 people on Nov. 29 to 34.37 new cases per 100,000 people on Dec. 13, according to Johns Hopkins University.
The death rate hasn’t increased during that same period.
And the 'wave' is short lived. The virus is already decreasing from it's peak at ground zero.
South Africa’s noticeable drop in new COVID-19 cases in recent days may signal that the country’s dramatic Omicron-driven surge has passed its peak, medical experts say.
Daily virus case counts are notoriously unreliable, as they can be affected by uneven testing, reporting delays and other fluctuations. But they are offering one tantalizing hint — far from conclusive yet — that Omicron infections may recede quickly after a ferocious spike.
South Africa has been at the forefront of the Omicron wave and the world is watching for any signs of how it may play out there to try to understand what may be in store.
After hitting a high of nearly 27,000 new cases nationwide on Thursday, the numbers dropped to about 15,424 on Tuesday. In Gauteng province — South Africa’s most populous with 16 million people, including the largest city, Johannesburg, and the capital, Pretoria — the decrease started earlier and has continued.“The drop in new cases nationally combined with the sustained drop in new cases seen here in Gauteng province, which for weeks has been the center of this wave, indicates that we are past the peak,” Marta Nunes, senior researcher at the Vaccines and Infectious Diseases Analytics department of the University of Witwatersrand, told The Associated Press.
“
It was a short wave … and the good news is that it was not very severe in terms of hospitalizations and deaths,” she said. It is “not unexpected in epidemiology that a very steep increase, like what we saw in November, is followed by a steep decrease.”

NO..because that 4th 'Booster' in Isreal is the same vaccine from the first 3 roll outs.. the one that failed to protect the fully vaxxed for the Omicron variant.
We're about 6 months behind Isreal in our rolls out and we just started on number 3, the 4th will be about Mothers day 2022.
There is NO Omicron specific vaccine....yet.

I see the article has been edited the original headline read, "Israel Set to Roll out 4th Dose of Covid 19 Vaccine after 1 Omicron Death."

Has too much time on their hands
Well the graph shows numbers higher than ever, whether that is the number of tests done or real numbers.... TBD.
https://www.worldometers.info/corona...ountry/canada/
Likely alot more Omicron if you look at the graph direction on Nextstrain, their data is a week old
https://nextstrain.org/ncov/gisaid/g...country=Canada
COVID-19 booster shot reduces risk of severe disease by 92%
https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/art...-disease-by-92
The data showed that people who received the COVID-19 booster shot had a 93% lower risk of hospital admissions, compared with people who had their second shot at least 5 months prior.
As for the boosters, long story, mine was scheduled for me and I have mine this evening.... might be wondering if those are Christmas lights or not on the way home :-)

Really discouraging to see the letters to the editor in the Citizen today - one calling for a complete lockdown and the other blasting Ford for not being ready with the boosters... The boosters weren't really an issue until a week ago, really. Some really scared people out there. Sad to remember when showing courage was a virtue. Pretty sad today when we seem to have an ongoing contest amongst people trying to show who is most afraid.
And before I get slammed for that last sentence - there is a night and day difference between being caution and irrational paralyzing fear.
