The end is near for Ontario Archery deer.

First time in a very long time I have not harvested a deer with my bow yet.

Did well in the controlled hunt with the Savage 10MLii so my Venison supply is not at zero but I will need to use it sparingly...

Not giving up until Dec 31st 30min after sunset! lol

Good luck to those still on the hunt. Going to be a very cold end to the season but I'm mentally prepared to deal with it and the heated gear helps too..

Good luck. Trying to resist pushing my luck on my gimpy leg. Have an unfilled additional burning a hole in my bow case.

I have been done since the 1st of December. Been regretting it since then, miss being out. I have gotten several deer after Xmas. 2 years ago I believe it was the 30th. I have also gotten boxing day deer, so yes it not over till the last light of the last day of December.

Latest I have ever filled a tag was about 5 years ago - 4 PM on Dec 31.

Earliest ever was about 10 years ago at about 5 PM on Oct 02. Still chasing that Oct 01 deer.

Was out this morning, chilly but beautiful. I have good clothing though so I was cozy warm. Only saw a pair of Bald Eagles. Of course later in the afternoon when I got my pictures from Spypoint there were 2 different bucks and a doe and fawn on the other end of the property. They were there at 3 in the morning but still. I harvested my latest deer ever, 5 minutes before the season ended.

Buddy got a nice doe last evening. I've been telling them we should have a new year's eve hunt for the past few years then back to shop for some whiskeys. Hasn't gotten off the ground yet as most of the wives don't seem too keen on the idea. I'm guessing this will be the year they want to do it because my hunt is over as I replaced the scope on my 380 last week and no interest in sighting it in until spring when I'm replacing the R.E.D.S and putting on a BOO string. Good luck to those still at it.
