2021 Late Season Success
Late season bow hunting was good to me this year. Had this buck show back up on cameras mid Dec for the first time since August.
I was able to move in on the area he was using and after my fifth day in a row hunting I got my opportunity on Dec 21st. Him and a 6 pointer were actually running a hot doe and fortunately I was in the right spot and able to make it count. 10 yard shot and he was dead within sight. By far my biggest buck and it was nice to be able to get it done with the crossbow. WMU 68B.
Good luck to everyone trying to fill a last minute tag.

awesome job, thats a beauty buck...Im curious about shot placement, was that a neck shot? I guess your shot would be the best spot to put an arrow if the deer is fully facing toward you?

Yep he was facing directly towards me and looking up at me in the tree. Being only 10 yards away I was confident I could hit where I needed to. Plus he was chasing a hot doe and covering ground quick so I figured that would be my best opportunity. It was by far the most blood I’ve ever seen on a blood trail. Entered the neck but took out all of the arteries coming out of the top of the heart.
