Default Tara Henley: Why I quit the CBC

"To work at the CBC in the current climate is to embrace cognitive dissonance and to abandon journalistic integrity'""To work at the CBC is to submit to job interviews that are not about qualifications or experience — but instead demand the parroting of orthodoxies, the demonstration of fealty to dogma."

Good for her. Hopefully more journalists follow suit.

I’ve heard from people in broadcasting that everyone there is just a drone...lots of pressure to toe the approved line.

She's right. It's all about parroting the editorial policy of the owners. Stray from that just once and they're fired. Has anyone seen the spots change on Warren Kinsella? There's a classic example. Journalism is a lot like prostitution. "Oh baby,oh baby, you're the KING, you're the KING!" Squirt....cheque please.

Sadly, I feel CBC should be classified as government propaganda, not media..
I miss the days of Peter Mansbridge on the nightly news when he told you what is going on in the world, not its just a left wing commie organization

There are no more news reporters, simply stating the unbiased facts of an event. We now have news commentators, giving their personal spin on everything.

I wish if they would do that-stating their personal spin.........They all repeat the same mantra.

Coming form a Socialist country run by communist, AND the time and era of single source Government controlled Media-i think on many occasion them Hard Core Communis's would be watching in awe the heights we are on by now with Propaganda in just about every Media.

Media-the supposedly free and impartial one.

I've said it before, remember back when Justlied Trudeau was caught taking $20,000+ from charities etc while still an MP making atleast $150,000/yr. I wished I had taped it when he spoke live, he answered the questions and right ater the reporter commented and actually contradicted what was said live. An hour later on the repeat the cut of Justlied was very short and now matched what the reporter said, that was much more favourable. They cut the interview so it matched their "truth" (unrelated to actual facts), living in Toronto downtown you would see the "huge protests" were actually outnumbered by reporters but the shots and comments said different etc. and that they were often contradicting reality.

Maybe enough to keep CBC radio in rural communities but for the most part.... #DefundCBC Spending $100,000,000 per month of producing "content" no one watches (according to ratings) and produce "Liberal truth" (not related to facts) is another dinosaur that needs evolve or go extinct.
