yup..Headline : Provinces should consider mandating COVID-19 vaccines, federal health minister says

Citing the example of his home province of Quebec, where he said 50 per cent of hospitalizations are due to people being unvaccinated, Duclos said he thinks mandating COVID-19 shots—going beyond a vaccine passport system limiting access to certain spaces and activities—should be considered.

“I'm signalling this as a conversation which I believe provinces and territories, in support with the federal government, will want to have over the next weeks and months,” said the health minister.

Duclos said that it’s his personal view, but one that is based on conversations with his provincial health minister counterparts and informed by what he’s been tracking both domestically and internationally.

“Whether it be they move forward or not, that's going to be their decision to make,” he said.

This whole push needs to end

It's a shame Canada is shut down and the USA is open despite having more of the population vaccinated here.

Maybe they have a better health system than us lol.

Mandatory vaccination is emerging elsewhere in the world as an attempt to dampen the pandemic’s growth.
From Feb. 1, vaccination will be mandatory in Austria.
In Greece, people over age 60 will be fined 100 euros ($144) a month if they don’t get a shot by Jan. 15.
In Italy, vaccines are compulsory for people older than 50.
German MPs are expected to soon vote on making vaccination mandatory.

Hardly the same. Excluding anti-vaxxers from certain public places is vastly different and much easier than forcing them to take a vaccination against their will. The problem becomes the "then what" question when they refuse. Expect this trial balloon to be quickly deflated.
