I would disagree. The data shows that the majority of people in the hospitals are 60+. One possible reason could be seniors residences. We know that the vaccine is lousy at stopping transmission.

While the other age groups represent far fewer hospitalizations. I would infer that the social distancing and number restrictions in stores, along with bars/restaurants closed for in house dining is working. After all it is the younger crowd making use of those facilities. And transmission is high with omicron.

The numbers in the ICU are also quite low. I wonder what the break down is of people vaccinated versus unvaccinated.

This graph would contradict that lockdowns are working...as you said the most socially active are the highest degree of cases.

Hospitalizations are still far greater for the vaccinated...which would suggest that it's more young people per the chart above.
Vaccinated in the ICU are over 50%

That's fine, but my posted data still contradicts your statement...Omicron infections are running rampant thru the age group that is most socially active and least likely to take procautions.

I wouldn’t believe the hype about your sacrifices. I doubt the average Canadian holds the unvaccinated accountable for the virus spread, especially with the data we have. Don’t buy into the medias sensalization.
I guess we'll just have to disagree on this one double b.

If nothing in the past 2 years strikes you as tyrannical, I'm not sure what would?

My observation is not without evidence, it's a simple fact that most people do what they're told. Look up the Milgram experiment, the Stanford prison experiment and other such examples. There are several hidden camera videos of people doing things like sitting uncomfortably close to others in public spaces, and only 1 out of 10 people actually say something or reclaim their space...most others simply accommodate. The social science on this is pretty clear. With our covid situation, most people thought they were doing the right thing and that things would get back to normal if they simply complied. Now after 2 shots, they are shocked, disappointed and frustrated to find out they are in the same place. Many of these people (talk radio call-ins, random conversations in public, family members, friends, prominent public figures, members on this forum, etc.) have said they don't plan to take the booster out of principle. This misplaced anger and resentment also causes many of these people to continue blaming the unvaccinated / unmasked.

The solution? Either say "enough is enough" or continue complying with a 3rd, 4th shot and further restrictions that we all know are useless, while trying desperately to justify that to yourself in the face of emerging data that continues to refute everything. Which path do you choose?

Also, my pointing out that people have been manipulated is less a critique of those people and more of a critique of those who lied and manipulated them. It's predatory and subversive behaviour that deserves to be called out in defense of those people it harmed.

I am not 'hyping' my sacrifices or positioning myself as some sort of hero to be praised. I am correctly pointing out what most unvaccinated (and to a large degree those opposed to the mandates, regardless of their vax status) endure in response to your question, which had a tone of dismissive cynicism. Just a few days ago I flicked on am640 in the truck for a quick minute, and Dr. Gorfinkel, one of their 'experts' was going on about bogus #'s and how "this is still very much a pandemic of the unvaccinated!"

The unvaccinated / unmasked skeptics have been continually and incorrectly blamed for our situation.

Honestly what can be said? The government’s around the world did what they thought best for their respective populations. You’re damned if you do and damned if you don’t. If the government stood idle and we allowed the virus to go rampant, who knows where we would be. But you can guarantee if fatalities spiked, the people would be looking for blood. We are now living with government decisions made for our safety (depends on your perspective). Currently I believe the majority are fine with the current state of affairs and it is only a minority looking for blood. But the bottom line is, you can’t make everyone happy.

    ps. Am640 is highly opinionated.

Perhaps you should read up on the differences a little more. But I can sense your frustration. Patience.

+1. To babble on about tyranny and Ontario being a dictatorship reflects the pampering of the modern age. Never having been in an actual dictatorship or faced hardship or privation of any sort some people tend to act out when their demands and expectations are not immediately met. Patience is an unknown concept to them.

Patience has run out for the general population worldwide.
Tyranny is in our face and citizens are reacting to it in a firm and peaceful manner.
I would say that Agents are in damage control right now with their backs against the wall.

So, in essence you are correct Badenoch. It is We The People against a minority of "them"
    Which side are you on?
