I believe these kind of weapons have been designed to defeat body amour.
Simultaneous impact of two bullets within an inch have great chance to render the opponents armor useless.

We have few LEOs and Former CF members here -any opinion?

I presume you are talking about the body armour currently worn by law enforcement. I seem to recall an article a while back about and individual who acquired some body armour and got a friend to help test its effectiveness with a shotgun, loaded with buckshot at him. The guy is now dead, killed by the load of buckshot his friend fired at him. I believe the body armour, to be effective, relies upon the spin of the bullet to gnarl it in the protective fabric of the vest. I believe in this case, the problem was with the buckshot, in that it doesn't spin so didn't gnarl and passed straight through the vest

Standard "bullet proof" vests do not stop 223 rounds.

Interesting tech and all you can see is bull sh**... double barrel handguns, rifles, shotguns etc. have been around for atleast 200 years.. example below

This double AR is intended for special forces and in the public available version is still a semi auto with one trigger per barrel and at over $2000.... about 3 times a regular Ruger or S&W AR and the ARs are a tiny percent of firearms (highest I have heard is 5% and as popular as it is that is very low) used in crimes in the US so your statement is really ill-informed or just ridiculous at best.


Based on the last numbers I saw for Canada the AR is responsible for less deaths than in the case of this thread the number of idiots wearing body armour let their friends shoot them with buck shot.

???? Not sure what you're looking at for those stats. Just a simple perusal of Wiki shows a list of the most deadly us mass shootings that have occurred in the us in the past 50 years. High capacity semis (with precisely this type of ar platform being #1) were used in 6 out of 10 of the worst on record according to what I'm reading.

I wonder if the twin barrels will function with a bump stock eg. two rounds per contact on double triggers. What's the highest capacity mags a civilian can buy in the states for an AR type rifle?
