Default Two-dose passport 'almost worthless': Ottawa medical experts

Finally starting to hear from some senior medical advisors agreeing with what some of us have been saying for months now...

Some Ottawa-area public health experts would like to see the province's COVID-19 vaccine passport require Ontarians have a booster shot in order to enter a range of indoor establishments.

Premier Doug Ford announced Thursday the province will begin lifting public health restrictions at the end of the month, and said no changes to the two-dose requirement are currently planned.

"Fish or cut bait," said Dr. Doug Manuel, an epidemiologist and senior scientist at The Ottawa Hospital Research Institute. "two-dose passport is almost worthless…You might as well just throw it away — or you bring the three-dose."

Manuel said two doses of COVID-19 vaccine is not enough protection to prevent Omicron cases from surging once current restrictions are lifted. Two doses, he said, are only about 20 per cent effective in protecting against Omicron infection, although the same dosage is more effective in protecting against severe infection and hospitalizations.

The cdc said 3rd shot is a requirement for the Vax pass.

Not sure why when fully vaccinated plus boosters are still catching covid.

We need to end this ridiculous Vax pass.

Upgrading the 'Verified' status requirement to include a Booster will be impossible to do without adding restrictions the vast majority of people. There are only 35% Boostered ow and most of those are senior in care facilities. It will take another 3-4 months to Boost the remaining 65% of double vaxxed.

In other words, that restriction will affect 60% of double vaxxers who would not get Booster in time for Spring Break, so they will not be able to travel.

Just another incentive to get the right dose keep it going you will need a 4th..

As I told someone not long ago they didn't want the booster but works in a mandatory shot. They should of put their foot down on the first as it would be even harder to loosen them after ward's . What's one more shot lol.

Yup..my mother was one; Fully vaxxed with Booster ( about a month ago) and still got Covid. Rather pointless.

If she had got on a plane to head to Cancun with her 'Verified' passport ..she would have failed the PCR test and been forced into quarantine..
