I’m speculating, but I don’t think he opposes the convoy itself, I think it has more to do with bowing to their demands. In fact I bet if the protesters left this week, by next week the mandates would ease. Now it’s a foolish pride competition. Only the stakes are higher for a government to bow to demands than the people. Think of the future ramifications of such an outcome.
