There'll be lots of rhetoric and threats, but,in reality,NATO will not go to war over The Ukraine because technically,it's not a member. Economic sanctions will be the only way the west can contain Putin and even with them, the effects will be more symbolic than anything else. The line in the sand will be Poland's eastern border. Today, the Chinese sent recon flights over Taiwan air space to gauge response. If no appreciable action ensues over Ukraine,China will likely see that as a weakness in US resolve and launch an invasion to re-take what they believe is their sovereign territory. They won't need to amass an invasion force with logistics, either. All the gear is already there.

Maybe the village idiot will bail now. He can’t hide in his cottage, and he hasn’t the brains or the parts to deal with Russia …

The true sad thing about this war (other then all the innocent dead-or will be dead people of both countries)the West has lost a fair chance to align Russia with Western values/goals and interests ,instead-after all this ,Russians are pushed to align with China.

In the fight of two-the third party will be laughing(so we say back home)

    BIG strategic mistake.

I agree with your post. If Russia invades a NATO country, then something might happen. I can clearly see that China will take Taiwan in the very near future. I don’t think that the American public has the stomach to go to war with an well-armed force.

Interesting ! You mean to say, that JT will be at a loss to come up with a vaccine for the new PUTIN-22 virus?

What I found more interesting was an interview of a young Ukraine man in a CTV report. His reason for leaving the Ukraine was, “ I don’t know how to use a gun.” You would think, considering the political climate in the country, that it might have been something he should have been taught in schools.

There seems to be a fair number of protests IN Russia

Anti-war protest in downtown Moscow despite police crackdown; at least 1,762 people have been detained

With a history that includes Russian and Nazi massacres and what could be called genocides... seems some won't bend.
