Unit 10 - hard winter for deer
Healthy wolf population, lots of cold weather, and plenty of deep snow will result in poor deer numbers this spring. I will be setting up trail cameras in April, but I don’t expect many photos of deer.

That’s not good news. Hopefully there’s an early green up. It was pretty slim pickings” around camp in 7b last year….

Yes, the deer in 7B are scarce there too. There’s some nice bush NE of North Branch that I hunt but deer are hard to find. I don’t think the batteries in my trail cams will run down this year.

Was a pretty good winter here in 65, there should be a bumper crop of fawns.

Not exactly in your area, but this should help some deer up north:

That's why they said it was mixed with oats to minimize the problems of just corn. Maybe more oats than corn. Some food is better than no food maybe lol. It didn't mention the mix ratio

I was wondering why they aren't using hay - I thought deer eat that too. I figured maybe it was because of the ratio of calories/weight/volume of hay is so low that it makes it hard to deliver enough for it to be useful to the deer? Anyway, I assume they know what they are doing and chose the best option.

Does it make a difference, we were all told no corn as they could not digest this?
