Fish is onto something with Ukraine by far not being as innocent ,as the try to present.
While all of that DOES NOT justify the death and destruction- and does not make many things right-if one wakes up the sleeping bear, one should not be surprised by the bear's reaction.

In the past 8-10 years they did everything to piss off Russia.Big time.

Here are few things one may not know, since the media for many of us means the media which presents thing in a way to suit the influencers and benefactors.

Ukrainians -with major, major impact from outside ,toppled a legally elected Government .

Soon after that turmoil, one of the first thing was ,they took away many minority rights and start a suppression of all minorities in Ukraine.
Not just the huge Russian population felt hurt, but all the other smaller minorities-the poles, the hungarians and and the romanians too.
In Europe-language and culture are major things, and everyone is keen on protecting their own.

Despite many efforts to have them change these new rules-they wildly ignored all the related concerns. The request to place the rights of historical minorities back to where they were traditionally, is ignored ,at best .
They went that far to cry to the international community ,why other countries"dare"to speak up about all of that, and asked outsiders to make them stop..

They foster ultanationalists groups like no other country does(including Russia)and give them free will-juts watch the vidoes above,or read about else. They try to wipe off all signs of presence of minorities living there for millennia by phisical abuse too-and then they pretend, they do not know, and can not find culprits.

They cry about the invasion-but blissfully igore ,they sent in the 5th Motorized brigade into Iraq,at the onset of the II Iraq war, to take part of invading a far away country?

Money sent in Ukraine from abroad disappears faster then they hit the bank accounts.........and when requests come to investigate ,where all the billions are gone-they fire the chief Investigator.
Oligarch grow -Yet they cry wolf and push against Russian Oligarchs.

At the end-they can not move Ukraine further away from Russia.....just a fact of Geography.
They could have learned from Finns-be at peace with your biggest neighbour, because they are there, and will be there forever.

Ukraine is a big and versatile country, with lots of potentials. But as long as they try to be something else they "can"be-the outcome is almost given.

With better, smarter and more dedicated REAL politics ,they could have avoided all this destruction.
Yet again, all these and other issues do NOT JUSTIFY what is happenings there, and it is a shame for all deaths and destruction.

The Finns were invaded by Russia and fought the Winter war where the Russians lost many soldiers and armour. Russians again the aggressors plain and simple and repeat of history and Nazi tactiques on the part of Putin.

History says otherwise-but lets just ignore that fact .
The Finns were part of Russia till the end of I st WW. Right or wrong-fact is a fact.
The Soviets asked for a trade of land-at the onset of WWII(this was not an issue until Finnland was part of Russia)- a land around Lake Ladoga-to "secure" St Petersburg(Leningrad at the time).
They felt -it is a must for them. Right or wrong.

They offered a trade-land for land.

The Finns denied( rightfully-but not very smartly)so the Soviets invaded.
After the heroic war, where the Finns grew their nation respect HUGE, they lost.

At the end-they gave everything what the Soviets wanted-and then a WHOLE lot more.a whole lot more!

They were so much down, they were made-and they actually did ,wage a war on Germans stationed on Finn soil(they were there to help the Finns fight the Soviets). This was pressed upon them by the Peace Pact.
    Oximoron? Not?

Would it not be smarter from the get go, to take the trade?
    REAL politics!
Not to loose Karelia-Petsamo and Salla?
And at the end result-up until today: they do think and act ,considering their neighbor.

I RESPECT the Finns, for what they did-but what was the cost ,and what was the end result?

Ukraine could/should and would have learned from them.
If they would wanted to be in REAL politics.

Prior to being part of Russia, Finland was part of Sweden for about 500 years. Wars have been continuously fought in Europe and Western Asia forever but this fact doesn’t justify invasions of sovereign nations. It’s 2022 and the world should be evolving in a more positive way. The situation is really sad.

100% agree Sam-i do feel bad for human losses and destruction(and said / posted this more then once).

If Russia is consistently allowed to get away with this kind of behaviour then it will never end.

That needs to go for both sides. Maybe loose the pentagon funding in the Ukrainian bio labs near the Russian borders. Maybe Ukraine need to clean up too politically and take control over their people living as soldiers training to fight their neighbors. Peace needs to come from both side .

Russia has mentioned many times over the years of the western influence near their borders and the labs.
