    Default KFC style grouse

My kids were in the mood for some chicken fingers so I pulled out some grouse I had from the season.

I don’t own this recipe, but I’ll provide the link to it. It’s actually pretty good. Great flavour with a nice crunch. I would recommend anyone give it a try.

Looks good. I will tell you that a couple of years ago that we tried to eat a grouse that had been eating Pine seeds. The thing tasted like turpentine and no one, could eat even a bite.

Late season spruce grouse tend to get strong tasting. But I’ve never had an issue with their ruffed cousin.

I’ve found and used an even better recipe if that’s possible. The coating stays super crispy even after sitting for an hour. I tested this recipe out at wild game potluck we had back in November and it was hands down the winner. Runner up was a buddies sous-vide moose roast.

Again this isn’t my recipe it’s from Chef John. But I used it with grouse and again with turkey and it was crazy good. I would however recommend a bit more cayenne or chillies if you like your heat.

Definitely a kid pleaser as well.

Does anyone use Fish Crisp? That stuff is addictive.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Actually, I love junk food, including McDonald's burgers (Filet-O-Fish) but I try to improve my overall health so I keep a healthy diet now. Since I excluded sugar and fatty food, I have already lost more than 10 kg. I also exercise 3 times a week and think about weight loss pills. I found Xenical at Canada Drugs, it seems. a good option. Who can tell me more about it?

    Hi,
With my (limited) experience cooking squirrel, making them in a chicken fried style only resulted in very tough meat. What ways do you tenderize the meat before frying?

    Thanks,
    Neil
