Trout opener

Well it was nothing spectacular but it was nice to get out with the boys for some trout yesterday. Up at 4am we drove up to clearview township for some river/creek trout fishing. It was a cool morning and even colder water. Gobbles in the woods surrounding the river was our soundtrack for the first hour or so. We did quite well for specks landing a couple in the 12”-14” range, the rest were under 10”. We even got into some rainbows. Most of the rainbows were small resident trout, but one nice 18” came home with us. Most specks were caught on small spinners and bows on roe and flys. We called it a day around 3pm, headed to a friends house for a well deserved bbq and beer.

How did everyone else do?

Went out today for some steelhead with my daughter. First time she’s been out she’s only 9. Lots of people but we secured a hole a lot of people walk by. We landed one and lost one and she had a great time. What else can you ask for.
