I’ve only ever heard a hen Kee kee like that in the fall.

I've heard them make it in spring before, I even use it sometimes to try and bring in a hen along with a gobbler of course! TC

It was definitely a first for me. She started at my calling at first light, came and went 4 times before disappearing into the bush 3 hrs later. Screaming the whole time, non stop. It made the hunt interesting.

I’ve only ever heard a hen Kee kee like that in the fall.

I mix a lot of kee kees in with my calling during the first week or so of the Spring season. Seems to sometimes be that extra little bit of realism that's needed to pull in a hung up Tom. Jake yelping can have a similar effect!
