    One of my favourite tactics. I use a 7’ baitcaster with 18lb braid with a 4’ fluorocarbon leader. Way more fun than trolling, and the fish caught are on average a little bigger. I have found a 3/8oz jig head with a white swim bait absolutely killer. Bladebaits work great as well.

    I'm no fisherman, but a friend of mine who is showed me this technique a long time ago, and it worked for us. I think we were using some sort ot ice fishing jigs (?). We caught some nice lake trout!

    I've used 1/2 ounce Mr. Champs for years to do this. June/July anywhere from 60-90 feet deep just off bottom.
