I have the same gun as well, with the rifled deer barrel and 28" vent ribbed barrel. I shoot a bit of skeet with it. The rifled barrel shoots sabot slugs as good as any gun out there.

The author is out to lunch when he states "Beretta was not well known in North America until after 1985." The company has been in business for centuries and was well known before the Model 92 was introduced.

I have a few synthetic rifles, but all my shotguns are wood.
That Beretta does look good though.

Mine has no problem with light target loads so it is quite comfortable to shoot. As the authour mentioned, it is a bit more difficult to change barrels than other semis and you want to be sure not to lose any parts but this just means you get to inspect the gun more and clean it more, although the Benelli style action doesn't need much cleaning and still functions well.
Kinda too bad they quit making it.

I have the same rig and it's a joy to shoot ! Unloading it can be a bit tricky as it has a small tab that needs to be depressed but with practice it gets easier.
