A few years ago my son caught a 32lb salmon on an orange NK, the week before the salmon derby opened. Had we caught that fish 1 week later we would have won 1st place for that week.

Kind of off topic, but what speed do y'all troll spoons for Salmon on Lake O Heading up next weekend for first time, we are used to trolling Erie at 3mph but I heard slower for Salmon, thx in advance

generallay 2.5 on the gps little faster pulling spoons, little slower pulling paddles. Little slower going west little faster going east
Time in the outdoors is never wasted

Depends largely on the set up.
you want the spoon to move side to side, not spin, I get the best results with it that way.
place the rod in holder and move it just deep enough to be in a couple feet of water, and monitor the action.
I change speeds, till I get the flasher to spin and spoon to move side to side, usually below 3mph facing the current.
one of the fishing charters thought me to troll in S path, the curves cause one side to move faster than the other side ... getting spoons to act/rotate differently.

Len Thompson #2 is a great spoon to chuck for pike.
