Whitby trolling

So finally got the boat into Lake O for some salmon trolling. I must be rusty because I did catch a damn thing except for a Mink I found about 5 km off shore barely swimming. The poor little guy was so exhausted that when I got near him to see what was moving he scratched on the side of my boat to come in. I scooped him up and layed him on the back deck. Poor guy was so tired he fell asleep. Got him to shore and let him go on the dock, he walked to a shady spot and layed down.

As for the fishing, I washed every spoon, fly, dodger, SD, J-plug, flatfish, Apex, Freedom lure, Flasher, reef runner and the kitchen sink and I couldn't ge anything to bite. Marked all the fish in shallow, 50-100 fow in the morning. A few bait balls in the 135 fow range. I fished high, I fished mid way and I fished low, nothing. Lots and lots of marks so I am not sure if they are staging or what. Seemed odd.

Oh well, got the boat out, the riggers were humming, swapped out the bunks on my trailer and helped a mink out. Still beats working.

kind of proves 'No good deed goes unpunished' you'd think the fishing gods would reward your kindness with at least a fish. Couldn't make it out this weekend, pulled a back muscle, so you're also marking me feel better I didn't miss much.
